First AMD system I built was with the Athlon XP 2800+ cpu, right after that was the big upgrade to the Athlon XP 3200+, I still have it in a box, stored away. I have bought earlier AMD cpu's, but they were in store bought prebuilt systems, so I didn't count them as my 1st AMD cpu. Have several various different generations all the way up to Zen 4 now.

I started with a 5x86 back in the 90's and currently have a 5950x but when I ditched my single core Opteron and went back to Intel for a Core2Duo I stayed with them until bought a 3900x.

Chances are high that my next build will be Intel and I'm going to try to hold out to LGA 1718.
