Hello:
Can someone answer these questions for me since I cannot find a phone number for AMD and time-consuming email conversations with AMD have yet to answer them?
I have a 5-year-old Dell PC running Win 11 and three days ago I noticed, in the system tray at the bottom right corner of my monitor, a program running call "AMD Software Adrenalin Edition". I have never noticed this before. Since my virus protection indicated no malware, I reluctantly opened it. It opens to a Tracking page with other option such as Home, Gaming, Performance. When I attempted to uninstall this program I do not see it on the installed programs list to select Uninstall.
My questions:
1) How did AMD Software Adrenalin Edition get on my PC? (I did not intentionally request it)
2) What is this software; what does it do? Do I need it?
3) Can I uninstall it without negatively impacting my PC? How do I uninstall it?
Thank you very much for answering my questions.

Thank you very much. That helps me understand it more. I'm thinking it was installed the last time I ran Dell Support Assist.

It's part of the AMD driver package for graphics, processor and chipset management and tuning control.
If you haven't changed hardware then it was likely installed with a recent software update.
If you don't want the Adrenalin software it seems there may be a way to manually extract just the driver you need from the package.
Hi,
1) How did AMD Software Adrenalin Edition get on my PC? (I did not intentionally request it)
R: Problably through DELL Software like DELL COMMAND or such.
2) What is this software; what does it do? Do I need it?
R: If your Dell system has a AMD GPU/iGPU then you should use Adrenalin.
3) Can I uninstall it without negatively impacting my PC? How do I uninstall it?
You can uninstall it of course but then you'll have to use the native driver with much less options I guess. On the DELL computers we configure around here, it will revert to native and lots of software won't work properly.
Always get the drivers from DELL SUPPORT with the Service Tag.
