I bought a 5600X & cannot find where I register the product on the AMD website.  It just says that you need the part number & serial number to request warranty service.  So is product registration not a thing with AMD?

There is no official AMD website to "Register" AMD Hardware. AMD Warranty only requires the Processor's Serial Number and Part Number from either the AMD Retail box or Processor itself and is a Retail Processor and not a OEM/Tray processor to qualify for AMD 3 year Warranty on the processor.

By the way, the AMD Warranty is not transferable to a second owner.

Then you should qualify automatically for the 3 year AMD Warranty which STARTS AFTER your Retailer/Vendor's Warranty or return date expires.
