Issue:
Since November, I've been experiencing random system freezes during gaming or even while browsing. I’ve tried troubleshooting the issue extensively, but the problem persists.

Steps Taken So Far:

  1. CPU Testing: Ran Prime95 – no issues detected.

  2. Memory Testing: Used MemTest86 – no errors found.

  3. Stress Testing: Ran OCCT – all tests passed without issues.

  4. Windows Reinstallation: Reinstalled Windows 5 days ago – problem still occurs.

  5. SAM : Disabled SAM last week, which significantly reduced the frequency of freezes (almost none in the last 5 days), but the system froze again today while watching CES.

So basically, this is my last cry for help, I guess. After this, I’ll just have to suffer through it and wait for an update in a few months. If the issue persists,
I’ll only have two suspects left after upgrade to am5: the GPU and the PSU.

try to disable graphic acceleration on all application.

or wait until driver version 25.1.1 come out this week or next week.

Do you have any more specific information? Why do you suggest turning off graphic acceleration? Is this a confirmed bug that will be resolved with 25.1.1?

I am facing the same issue:
I get random hangs where the display locks to whatever on screen and it would not respond to any input. Unplugging/ re-plugging the display cable from port will not return image, resulting in signal lost. weirdly audio either from videos/ games or discord calls will still continue. When checking on windows event-viewer the only error that would pop up is the force restart, which I have to do to return the PC to normal. The occurrence of the freeze is mostly random but always when I am playing a game.

You have two distint memory kits, do you run XMP on them? Try disabling it and see if it still crashes.

I have disabled XMP but still facing the same issue. My pc was first using windows 11 and was not experiencing any issues. It's a new pc--  28/04/2024 assembled. The issued appeared I believe 2-3 months back. I am guessing a potential driver issue?

Additionally, A few days back, radeon softaware started having problems. The program won't open when either clicker from the tray nor from the search bar. Moreover, many times when it will open, it will not close using the x nor the "close all windows".

It sounds like you’ve already done a lot of thorough troubleshooting. Since disabling SAM helped reduce freezes, that points toward a possible issue with either the GPU or some BIOS settings. If the problem persists, you might want to try testing the GPU in another system or testing with a different PSU to see if either is causing instability. Also, double-check for any BIOS updates app or specific settings that could affect system stability with the new hardware. Hopefully, narrowing it down soon will help resolve the issue!
