Hi I went from a AMD Ryzen 5 3600 to a AMD Ryzen 5 5600x went I first turned the machine on in wouldn't boot up diagnostic lights where on the board kept cycling then it came on did I need to flash bios first before putting new CPU in the socket?. Now I have noticed weird glitches in certain games looks like screen tearing and jagged edges I have a 60hz monitor and a GPU which is a GTX1070ti?.
Older motherboard chipsets like the 300 and 400 series will almost certainly need a BIOS update for the 5600X, but if it did eventually POST then it's likely good. Verify your motherboard manufacturer support to determine what BIOS version is needed.
@FunkZ My motherboard is B550M Pro-vdh I have reinstalled chipset drivers to see if that helps. Thanks for the reply
Per the MSI CPU compatibility chart, depending on the stepping of your 5600X, you need either v24 or v28 or higher BIOS version.

What BIOS version do you have flashed?
@FunkZ @Hi it doesn't give me a bios version number but just letters and numbers. Build date was 03/11/2024
So that's likely v2K then.
