New, on startup, I ran Windows updates, which updated drivers, Windows, and other components. When I got to the webcam, the Windows camera app says camera not found.
In camera privacy settings, the camera is enabled and app is allowed. In Device Manager, the camera is "hidden" (not connected). I removed the camera, rebooted, but Windows did not rediscover the camera.
I then re-installed the camera driver from Acer--no joy. The chipset driver, however, brought the camera back into the Device Manager and the camera worked for a few minutes. After that, it went into disconnected state again.
Worse, the laptop is on BIOS 1.09. I downloaded 1.56, but on launch, the updater says "no file found in directory".
Anyway, has anyone seen this issue with the webcam? What is the resolve? Thanks.
