Linux support for AMD smartshift based laptops

Im a computer science major and I would like to run linux windows dual boot. After all the updates windows runs fine however my first attempt with linux turned out to be sore.

I tried manjaro 20.0.3 (5.6.15). It was highly unstable with linux initially with random crashes untill I turned amdgpu.runpm = 0. After this parameter, the laptop still ran hot and gave a 2 hr battery life. After a few days of inactivity with linux it stopped booting all of a sudden. It was a black screen but the ttx cli was usable. I tried a couple of fixes here and there to no results. Eventually I decided to uninstall linux but bootrec /fixmbr didnt give me permission to revert back the changes in the bootloader(my mistake installing grub in windows bootloader partition). Ultimately I had to factory reset with dell support assist.

I would like to know are there any kernel patches / fixes available ? or is there a kernel version/ distro which is completely stable(as it would be on a normal device).
