LG releases 1ms IPS monitors with 144hz refresh rates, DCI-P3: 98%, and G-Sync

Hopefully they will also have FreeSync variants as well, they're releasing next month.

That 37.5" monitor is impressive.

Aye, but will no doubt be expensive, and that horrid 21:9 compression is...maddening for someone who desires 16:9 or 16:10

The 27" model says G-sync compatible, doesn't that imply that it is Freesync?

Nope, G-Sync uses a proprietary nVidia additional module, FreeSync is a VESA standard. G-Sync monitors do not support FreeSync.

I thought "Gsync compatible" was the term NVidia used for adaptive sync "ie freesync" monitors that met it's internal testing standards.  While "Gsync" denotes use of NVidia's proprietary hardware.

I looked it up and indeed it is.  The smaller screen is a Freesync monitor that has been certified as "Gsync compatible"  So adaptive sync will work with AMD or NVidia GPUs.

The larger display is "Gsync" and thus only works with NVidia GPUs.
