Is an additional $200 worth it for AMD Ryzen 7 and extra 500gb storage?

I know the ryzen 7 is much better, but is it really worth an extra $200? I probably won't need the extra storage so the only thing I'm paying for is the ryzen 7 upgrade. For college by the way if that makes a difference. Also how does it affect battery life or anything else? Thank you!

It's hard to answer your question without knowing what your current system has in it.  Do you already have an AM4 Ryzen 5 CPU installed?  If so, I would keep that.  How much M.2 storage do you have installed?  What video card, etc.?

As Albert Einstein said, "I could have done so much more with a Big Al's Computer!".

Yup..  If your loading speed is already maxed 7000mbs almost all modern ryzen 5 say a 5600x processors can push that speed that’s more about the ssd speed.  If your talking gaming, higher clock on fewer cores 4.7 4.9 and even 5.1ghz “Ryzen 9 5900x” makes a huge difference. 15-20percent on some games.  Everyday yt or internet you won’t notice anything.

video editing night and day with more cores and higher sustained clocks.

i have a 5600x and can get 4.7 all core which is a higher end lot chip.  Most will do 4.6 tho.

The two 5900x I have are both clocked up to 5150mhz all core. An avg. 5900x is 4950mhz all core

If you’re talking about mobile, that’s completely different.  A mobile 7 vs a desktop 7. Desktop will eat it alive.
