I am a VRM floozy

I have been very happy with my B650E Steel Legend and it's 16+2+1 phase power design

I started out with a 7950x and switched to a 7800X3D .. and looking forward to the soon to be released 9000 series from AMD

But!

I saw an "open box" deal from Newegg for a B650E Taichi Lite with it's 24+2+1 VRM's .. and .. well .. for $195 .. I couldn't help myself

I've bought 2 other "open box" motherboards now from Newegg and both are running fantastically!

On AM4 I ran the x570 Taichi .. it was such a great setup for me .. so was the x570 Steel Legend too

I like my VRM's like I like my power supplies .. Way Overkill!

Those are crazy VRM specs. As you said, way overkill even for a 7950X, and 9000 series is to have even lower power requirements. But I suppose they need something to justify the price, at least it has a 7 segment display!

Regarding NewEgg open box items, I've found them to be hit or miss. Sometimes you get a product that looks brand new and you wonder if the box was ever truly "opened" or just ordered and returned. Sometimes you get a board in a box with nothing else and you wonder if it was an RMA.

I'm like that too, I like a very strong VRM configuration but 24, geez.... thats a lot.

Well, i mean, the more the merrier. Grab the nitro can, buy the 9950X and go after the record at 6.6ghz
