Fortnite keeps crashing after installing RX 7600

i've made the switch from  an nvidia GPU to an RX 7600 and now it keep crashing on fortnite after a couple of games and gives a driver timeout message etc. first time i did the upgrade ive done it following a guide using DDU, but after some time i decided to try to reinstall windows and upgrade it form windows 10 to windows 11 to see if it would fix the problem. it still crashes even after reinstalling all the drivers etc.

my PC:

B450 tomahawk max

ryzen 5 3600

16 Ram

650w GQ evga psu

rx 7600 GPU

temps are all fine, im also putting the crashlog here somewhere if its allowed.

i've bought GPU second hand from a PC shop (warranty is still active).

i could not find a way to upload the crash log within the post, i copied and pasted some of the latest lines i thought were the problem in the crash log.

I am in the same situation with a 7600XT. I have RMAd the card with XFX, however I am still experiencing crashes/Black screen on all monitors while playing Fortnite. I have even been able to replicate the issue on a different PC as well.  I have tried everything I can think of to isolate the issue with no luck.

i still have to test mine on another PC (i do have another PC with similar specs, but the other one only has a Ryzen 200GE (dual core), but i guess i will still try and see if it works.

anyway after doing this post i've tried other fixes, but nothing worked sadly.

The seller (a small PC shop) that sold it to me was very kind and told me i could either use the warranty or just get a refund from them, so i might reach out to them if i cant find a fix for this. too bad, i really wanted to try an AMD but maybe its not worth it yet

Hello,

Sorry to hear about the crashes. You can try each of the following.

  1. Verify your GPU is connected with separate PSU cables (not daisy chained).
  2. Disable XMP/DOCP/EXPO
  3. Disable MPO - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fw_xv1Id6UM
  4. Disable GameBarPresenceWriter - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5JUzK-sRm0
  5. Disable Resizable BAR in BIOS
  6. Disable ULPS
  7. If none of the above work, try DDU / AMD Cleanup Utility to remove current drivers and try an older version like 23.12.1 or 23.11.x -- lots of reports here of issues with 24.x.x.

I had to disable Resizable BAR in BIOS and install 23.12.1 for good stability on my RX 6800 / 12600k system. On 24.x.x with Resizable BAR enabled, I was getting intermittent BIOS stutters, benchmark hard stutters (very similar to your videos), random Windows lag, etc

i updated the BIOS, set it to optimized settings, enabled XMP and Resizable BAR/SAM Memory and now it seems to work. i've been playing fortnite for more than 7 hours or more i think, without a crash or stutters. i will come back to this thread in case i will continue to crash, but for now it seems that its running normally! thanks!

Great, enjoy!

Just checking if you have also tried to enable Resizable BAR/SAM Memory and if it worked like it did for me. i have played some more and its working for now
