Application Errors

Not entirely sure this falls under General Discussion but:

I constantly get some variation of the pictured error when trying to play a game. Sometimes I will get past the menu and the game crashes, or the game starts and immediately crashes. Ive tried updating drivers and windows memory diagnostic but nothing works. Ive got a Ryzen 7 5800x and RX 6700xt.

Games like The Finals, Rocket League, TF2, and even Roblox crash within seconds or minutes.

With very little computer information as to the exact errors you are getting the only thing that comes to my mind is either a PSU issue or Overheating issue or if you overclocked and Overclocking issue.

Try stressing the hardware using OCCT CPU,GPU, & PSU tests and see if it also crashes during the testing phase. Keep an eye on temperatures and PSU outputs while each test is running.

Have you tried a full driver uninstall and reinstall? Is your bios and motherboard drivers up to date? If not, check the support page for your motherboard. Could be as easy as that.

Ive done just about every driver wipe and install I could find, nothings worked. If it isnt the pictured error, its a VRAM error.

OCCT checks your GPU card vRAM for errors.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like it might be a driver issue since at least OCCT didn't find any defective vRAM.

Make sure your Windows is fully updated via Windows Update and you have the latest BIOS version installed (Non-BETA).

Also try to set Radeon Settings to its default state and see if that helps any and run the games in a lower Resolution mode.

Then:

First try installing the latest AMD RX6700XT Driver from here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/amd-radeon-6000-series/amd-radeon-6700-series/amd-radeon-rx-...

If you still get that error than try installing a previous AMD driver and see if that fixes the issue in case it is a problem with the latest version from here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/previous-drivers/graphics/amd-radeon-6000-series/amd-radeon-6700-seri...

Use DDU to remove all traces of the current AMD driver and also delete AMD Driver Installation folder at C:\AMD.

After rebooting install the full package and see if you still get that error during games.

After installing the AMD driver run GPU-Z and upload the image just to make sure the driver is installed correctly and all APIs are enabled correctly for your GPU card.

Also make sure your PC has the minimum requirements to run the games that are having issues by going to these Gaming sites:

System Requirements Lab.com - Can I Run It

PC Game Benchmark.com - Can I Run It

PC Builds - Can I Run It

Those sites might also direct you to any problems concerning running certain games. It is just for Troubleshooting purposes only.

If you still get that error and GPU-Z looks good then try running a Windows Clean Desktop and see if the error occurs in case it might be a 3rd party background program causing the issue.

Windows Clean Desktop is like running Windows  Safe Mode but when Windows is running normally. Easy to do and undo: How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Sorry for these late responses. Still getting the game errors though.

Your GPU-Z looks normal. All the APIs at the bottom are enabled for your GPU card and the data seems to be correct.

so it seems like your AMD driver is installed and working correctly. so something else is causing the driver to act up.

Did you go to one of those gaming sites and used the "Can  I Run It" to see if it indicated anything missing for your PC to run those games?

Have you tried different Radeon and Game settings to see if it fixes the problem?

Have you tried to install a previous AMD Driver version to see if it fixes the problem?

Try running your PC with a Clean Boot (Clean Windows Desktop) except don't disable any AMD related services. See if you problem occurs again.

Also just to verify your Windows OS is not corrupted or missing any files run in a elevated Command Prompt or Powershell the following command line: SFC /scannow

Otherwise I would open a XFX Support ticket and see if you need to RMA your GPU card if it is still under Warranty that is.

Im above the recommended requirements for the games I play, the driver shown above is an older one I downloaded like you suggested, I can try clean boot, the powershell command said it repaired some corrupted files, and I believe my GPU is still in warranty.

Games are still crashing unfortunately. I might just RMA the card.

Games run fine on a 3060, still trying to figure out this card though.
