Was wondering if anybody knows if AMD will be taking preorders for the 6900XT? And if so when?

never preorder, wait for them to come out and let others work out the bugs, then buy one if you need it.

I would say preordering these days is likely the only way to get new tech in the age of bots and scalpers.  Having said that, the 6900XT doesn't launch until December 8th, so we will likely not see preorders until late November if at all.  Mostly likely we will just get the launch on December 8th with what little volume there is falling to the bots, and real availability some two/three months later.

I read that some regions may have pre-order options. I have not seen any site I have been to in the USA offer any pre-orders.

It sounds like these GPUs will likely befall the same fate as the RTX 3000 series.  Hopefully though, with just more GPUs on the market, inventory from both companies will stabilize.

I think it is going to be pretty bare under the XMas tree this year for gaming hardware. You are pretty much SOL if you want a mid level card and up except for the 5700 series. I keep looking daily at the major sites and it is getting much worse not better. You can't find a RTX card of any kind unless it is at scalper prices.
