5800X3D

Spoiler

Is it recommended to keep preferred cores enabled or disabled for 5800X3D? Also I struggle with input lag a lot, even when setting pcie 4.0 to 3.0 in bios. I have tried to swap out every part in the pc without any luck. I’m currently sitting with MSI tomahawk X570S max wifi, 5800X3D, 3080ti, 32GB 3600mhz, 1000W platinum PSU. Is there any tweaks that should be done on that motherboard? What I’ve noticed, I get higher latency on speedtest on that board, than my girlfriend’s laptop on the same internet with the same cable. Is there anyone that knows more about this board?

The 5800X3D has a single CCD with 8 cores that all have access to the X3D cache, therefore no tweaks or core enabling/disabling need to occur such as with the 7900X3D/7950X3D which have dual CCDs.

You should be good with BIOS defaults and XMP profile for your memory to operate at 3600MT/s.

Interesting. I just don’t understand what cause so much input lag on the board. The fps is high as it should be. But you can feel the input being delayed, even though I’ve tried a lot of things and back to default again. I’m getting higher latency on the internet with the MSI X570S than an ASUS board in another computer with the same cable and internet. I don’t have a clue why. I’ve tried updating the drivers without any luck either. The input lag got less changing from pcie 4.0 to 3.0, but still occurs. It’s been pain for years for me.

Can you relocate your computer closer to your router and/or run an Ethernet cable to your router temporarily to bypass the integrated Wi-Fi of the board?
