5700XT Underperforming

Hey all,

I have been getting some issues with my 5700xt gpu and i think it's underperforming in games.

Whenever i look at benchmark videos from people with the exact same gpu and processor as me it looks like they are getting way more fps in games than i am with my card.

I've tried reinstalling drivers, using older drivers, changing my gpu settings (like using max power for example). I even tried updating my bios and tried tweaking around with the settings but this never seemed to help

The only thing i can think of is that it may be my ram speeds or how much gigabytes of ram i have (which i doubt)

I'm not much of a tech guy so maybe someone else could help me with this.

Thanks in advance.

Start with posting your system specs including your memory.

And a compare link for 3DMark or similar would also be helpful.

A reference 5700XT game clock should be 1755MHz. If your card is the Gigabyte 5700XT Gaming OC it has an advertised game clock of 1795MHz.

However per your screenshots your GPU freq is hovering around 1000MHz. (the pink line) This is undoubtedly impacting your performance.

Make sure the lights on the power connectors are not on or blinking, indicating a power issue.

You may want to open a Gigabyte support request for additional troubleshooting.

I tried to increase the clock frequency but i don't know how

You don't know what could fix this?

If you have any 3rd party GPU utilities like MSI Afterburner, uninstall them.

Make sure the Default profile is selected in Adrenalin.

Make sure the lights on the power connectors are not on or blinking, indicating a power issue.

I'll try doing that iguess

Lights only turn on at startup and then quickly turn off

I have tried using it with and without afterburner and on different profiles but it never seemed to make any difference

Since it is a Gigabyte card with a custom OC BIOS that's why I suggest contacting Gigabyte support.
