5700X3D hitting 87c with Thermalright Phanton Spirit

Hi all,

Just upgraded from a Ryzen 3600 to a 5700X3D and upgraded my cooler to the Thermalright Phantom Spirit. Just did my first OCCT run with a Normal run on the CPU only and to my surprise the core hit 87c right away.

Does this seem right?

My idle is hovering around 30c and in games (Path of Exile 2 etc.) im hitting around 55-60 degrees. I'm not sure I applied enough Thermalpaste or what could be wrong.

If you are stress testing it will be high and the temperatures you posted seem very good actually.

No worries.

OCCT can stress a CPU above and beyond any normal conditions, what temp does the CPU get to under Cinebench Multi?

Phantom Spirit has been tested to achieve temps 50-55°C above ambient. So if your ambient temp is in the 30°'s then a fully loaded temp of 87°C is normal.
