AMD Turion vs Ryzen

In past, I had a laptop Toshiba with AMD Turion X2 and Radeon HD2600 on board, and it's burned down after warranty end. The system heat was over 100C and trottling was exasperating. So, it it new ryzen mobile notebooks are better? Is it safe to buy it now?

Mobile Ryzen, especially Renoir APUs (Ryzen 4000 series) is infinitely better than the old Turion x2 machines. I had one of those machines almost 15 years ago when I was in college. 

 

Ryzen mobile + a discrete GPU like a 1650/2060 is a great combo if you're looking for mobile gaming. Check out the Asus Zephyrus G14s particularly.
