I'm working with AMD Epyc 9554P with RHEL 8 and am unable to query the SMI event count from
/dev/cpu/0/msr
at offset 0x34, unlike with Current-Gen Intel CPUs.
From the little information I could find online on the subject (mainly https://community.amd.com/t5/server-gurus-discussions/smi-problem-on-amd-epyc-7301/m-p/369704) it looks like on AMD platforms reading the msr registers to get the SMI count is not supported, and instead the Performance counters should be configured and used for this. Is there any official AMD documentation/guide on how this can be done?
