"Game HDR" greyed out on Game mode on Samsung TV

Game HDR stopped working after changing my graphics card to Radeon from Nvidia.
Windows was telling HDR is working, but Samsung TV only gets it only in normal mode. At game mode "Game HDR" option is grayed out so it was not possible to turn it on.
I spend days trying to fix it. This worked in a strange way. (big thanks journeyman)

You can try the instructions below:
"there is a comment, where it is described that some have got success with a tool named "custom resolution utility", with following steps:
1.turn off game mode from TV settings
2. open CRU and edit Extension Blocks
3. delete the 24hz / 30hz Tv Resolutions
4. Add Freesync Range 48 - 120
5. Export CRU settings
6. Activate game mode from TV settings, open CRU and import the settings you just exported
7. Use restart64 from cru folder"

Previously, HDR was available only in games. Now it is always on. It is not easy to understand the difference though.... so I am not sure this is a right fix, but it works...
I talked to Samsung service, they are not aware of the problem... They said, they only test Nvidia.... ATI and Samsung must make some tests together...

Radeon rx 6950 xt; Windows 11, Samsung 65Q70A.

I have the same exact issue with a Samsung Q95A and a Radeon 6950XT. Can't activate the HDR mode when using the TV´s Gamemode and therefore the Freesync.

Hey, shoutout to this post for leading me in the right direction. I have a Samsung Odyssey G6 (27" 1440p 240hz) gaming monitor. Basically for whoever else finds this forum with an AMD GPU you need to use CRU for Game HDR to work on Samsung Monitors/TV's. As mentioned in this forum post, this monitor was only made 100% compatible for NVIDIA GPUs. Generally the steps are the same but I will edit for greater detail using my specific monitor as a reference point. However, you can follow these steps with your Samsung TV/Monitor and it should work.

1. Make sure you are in Game Mode and open CRU. Make sure you select the Odyssey G6 from the dropdown if you have multiple monitors.
2. DO NOT EDIT ANYTHING YET. You will have this open so that you can copy everything over to the Non-Game Mode CRU instance. More on this later...
3. Turn Game Mode off in monitor settings. Now, open a second instance of CRU (click on the exe file again).
4. On your screen you should have 2 instances of CRU open (1 Game Mode CRU and 1 Non-Game Mode CRU). Copy the settings for everything from the Game Mode CRU to the Non-Game Mode CRU. You have to do this manually. This will include adding/removing resolutions, adding a freesync range, adding a DisplayPort 1.3 setting, checking/unchecking the resolutions on the left side of CRU etc.. Go through every section of CRU and make sure everything matches even the tables of numbers for the resolutions need to match. Please be as thorough as possible. If some numbers don't match this can cause issues.
6. Export CRU settings. Save it as whatever you want (Mine is saved as GameHDR-Fixed)
7. Activate Game Mode from the monitor settings, open CRU and import the settings you just exported.
8. Use restart64 from CRU folder.

You should now be able to toggle Game HDR which is vastly better to my eye than with it turned off. Also, you will never have to do these steps again after you get it right. Any time you update graphics drivers you will have to go back on CRU and import the settings file again. Simple as that.
