Manual Fan tuning

Everytime I try to tune the fans I restart and get the same error which is "default performance tuning settings have been restored due to an unexpected system failure reddit"

Really frustrating because I don't get unexpected errors and even If I did its not the fans tuning that is causing it can we please fix this.
