Driver feedback 22.3.1 with a 6800 XT

Hey there!

I updated my driver to the version 22.3.1 yesterday.

Then i got 2 annoying issues:

  1. If "Adaptive Sync" alias FreeSync is enabled, i got random black screens in Steam, when videos are played. Not every time, but about second video and even, when i scroll down and up. lol. And sometimes, when i play videos in the windows film+tv player.
  2. My taskbar and the windows settings have no aero transparency effect at all

My system:

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x, 32 GB Ram, GPU: Gigabyte RX 6800 XT, mainboard: MSI MAG B550M

So i installed the 21.10.2 again. In my opinion for the rx6800xt the best driver atm.

Do you have any issues stuttering in fortnite/fifa22 maybe?

My GPU is not working in this games but cs go, rainbow six siegie is working fine.

If you mean with shuttering a framerate about 48 fps then yes, i have the issue too.

I didnt have fifa, so i couldnt test the fps there.

CSGO and Overwatch are fine for me.

So i updated to the 22.3.1 again and test diffrent settings in some games. My monitor is a viewsonic xg2401 with Freesync and max 144 HZ rate. So i targeted about 140 fps to be cool.

Here are my tests:

Overwatch Extreme Settings in 1080x1920, automatic 141%

InGame Vsync on / AMD Driver: enhanced sync off + Adaptive Sync Off -> about 80 - 110 fps **bleep**?

InGame Vsync off / AMD Driver: enhanced sync on + Adaptive Sync Off -> again about 80 - 110 fps lol

InGame Vsync on / AMD Driver: enhanced sync on + Adaptive Sync on -> 154 Fps constant, seems a bit laggy for me?

InGame Vsync off / AMD Driver: enhanced sync off + Adaptive Sync off -> Max 140 fps, no lags or anything noice! With max ingame limit i get about 400 fps **bleep** in hell

Assassins Creed Valhalla

InGame Vsync on / AMD Driver: enhanced sync off + Adaptive Sync Off -> about 135 - 144 fps

InGame Vsync off / AMD Driver: enhanced sync on + Adaptive Sync Off -> 123 Fps, with all 3 sec lag / system hang for 0,5 sec

InGame Vsync on / AMD Driver: enhanced sync on + Adaptive Sync on -> 123 Fps, with all 3 sec lag / system hang for 0,5 sec

InGame Vsync off / AMD Driver: enhanced sync off + Adaptive Sync off -> Max 140 fps, no lags or anything noice! Without limit about 170 - 225 fps

My conclusion:

The enhanced sync option causes somthing like shuttering. Deactivate this option does the trick and the games run buttersmooth.

The Adaptive Sync option causes only in windows problems with video playback, but the issue is very squishy and just pop up only sometimes.

To deactivate all the options i couldnt see anything about tearing or something like that. But for now, its ok for me.
