Hey everybody,
I just wanted to draw everybody's attention to issue (and potential solution), I haven't seen reported anywhere, but here goes.
First a little background:
I have encountered an issue in Windows 11, I haven't before.
I am using ASUS TUF Gaming A16, FA607PI-N3010 with Win 11 Pro 64bit, 24H2,
For work I use software, in which in order to export certain files I need to press CTRL+SHIFT+X. First time I installed windows (about two-three weeks ago), I installed all of the software I generally used and noticed that CTRL+SHIFT+X didn't work. Normally, I was concerned that my new laptop might be defective. So, i tried USB keyboard, as well trying from different PC using teamviewer. But still CTRL+SHIFT+X didn't work.
So, I did fresh installation of windows and slowly started installing software one by one until CTRL+SHIFT+X stopped working. And I found a piece of software that I believed to be a culprit. It was a goverment issued software for reading healthcare cards, that has some trustedge middleware installed in him.
So, I didn't install that software and worked as normally. Until when CTRL+SHIFT+X stopped working again. I had nothing new installed, aside from windows, nvidia, amd and adobe updates.
So in order to diagnose the problem again i did the following:
Did a clean boot. Problem disappeared.
(For people who don't know exactly what clean boot is, I'll post below)
Reenabled all services one by one and none of the services in MS config were the issue, however, in Task manager, in startup services there is one process that I tried enabling and disabling few times that is apparently the culprit, and it is this one:
Now, my laptop is AMD based system with AMD integrated graphics, but also with Nvidia 4070. So given the fact that in BIOS, as well as Nvidia control panel I've set it to use only 4070, I kept it disabled and I haven't any issues thus far. However, I don't know if you have both iGPU and dGPU that are AMD if you can actually do that (or if you have desktop with AMD Graphics). Try and see if you have any other problems.
As for the clean boot, here is step by step guide on Microsoft site.
