Slowly moving up. Moving as fast as I can run at my advanced age.... 70... which isn't fast at all.

You aren't the only old timer here. Many of us were using computers in the late 1970's and early 1980's as part of our careers. Remember the days of the mainframe computers? How about the first portable computers, like the Osborne? I had one.
As Albert Einstein said, "I could have done so much more with a Big Al's Computer!".

Yes, I remember. My brother had (still has) an Osborne One, which I borrowed and tried out. It was big and "dragable", weighed about as much as a sewing machine. My first real job, in the early 80's, included working on an IBM mainframe, where I used COBOL 80 to program on. The company I worked in had a Burroughs mini computer, later upgraded to a Wang mini computer. The Burroughs machine didn't even have a main screen, but instead a paper printer log as "display". Luckily, the clients had screens though. 😂

I was a Commodore person. It was my first introduction to computers. The ol' C64. And they even had a "portable" SX64 with color screen monitor. You have to be young, strong, and sort "rich". Back in 1984, it cost $995. But the C64 got my feet wet, and I haven't looked back.
Nice knowing that there are other "ancients" here!

Thanks for the welcome!
I started with the C64, ran a BBS, then a C128, moving to Amiga(s) for fun and video work. Customized each one (2 A2000's with GVP boards, SCSI controllers, Video Toaster, Opalvision, genlocks, TBC's). Then sadly, Commodore went bust forcing me to move to the PC.
I build my first PC, and every one after that.
But at this point in life with the computer I have, still doing video editing with Vegas Pro, I am sitting good.

Is there any additional info for increasing ranks? As in what it takes to get to the next level?

I've asked about 'God Mode' but they know I don't rate. I bet I'll reach that if I come back as a cat in my next life.

I know how to read a punch card. It would be more correct to say "Who knows how to read 7bit (or 8bit extended) ASCII codes?". It works the same way with the old punched paper tape stuff.

Just liking others comments, replying to comments, or making new comments seem the biggest ones to me. I was a newcomer yesterday and now I’m a stage or two below adept; so essentially how I am at 3d design & printing.
