The AMD Ryzen™ 6000 Series processors for mobile announced at CES 2022 brought much anticipated excitement to global laptop consumers who were waiting in anticipation for the world’s best mobile processors with battery life the competition can only dream of7. These processors have already proven that they’re the most desirable option for gamers, content creators, and everyday users who need the ultimate combination of performance and mobility. Let’s recap the Ryzen 6000 series processor’s incredible strengths:
“With each iteration of AMD Ryzen™ we start from the drawing board in silicon design to deliver a premium customer-first experience.” Jason Banta, CVP Product Management adds, “AMD Engineering teams, work relentlessly along with our OEM partners, to optimize our collective approach in bringing the most premium laptops to market.”
This premium focus has lead AMD to partner with the top laptop manufacturers to create some of the most desirable laptops in the world. And consumers are now getting access to some examples of this collaboration with new thin, light laptops.
For example, the newly released ASUS ZenBook S 13 OLED, updated this year with the AMD Ryzen™ 7 6800U, delivers up to 45% faster graphics, 27% quicker 3D rendering, and 18% faster office productivity than a laptop equipped with Intel’s latest 12th Gen Core i7-1260P 6. And all of this productivity lives in the ZenBook’s incredibly thin 14.9mm Z-height and astonishingly light 2.2 lb form factor – the world’s lightest 13.3” in 2.8k OLED convertible laptop. Despite it’s diminutive size, the built-in Radeon™ 680M graphics are capable of playing Godfall™ at 60 frames per second (with AMD’s FSR technology enabled), and it can game offline on battery for more than 5 and a half hours6.
The upcoming Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 PRO X (late June 2022) is another game-changing laptop. It’s thin, light form factor holds the advanced Ryzen™ 7 6800HS Creator Edition processor, with eight high-performance cores capable of working 16 concurrent threads, designed to enhance mobile creativity with the power to complete demanding tasks quickly. And thanks to Radeon™ 680M graphics, it can play as well as it creates, with excellent performance in demanding AAA and competitive eSports games.
Delivering great experiences isn’t just for the premium gaming and content creator consumers, though, as AMD has committed to elevate all user experiences. At Computex 2022, a new line-up of entry-level processors, codenamed “Mendocino”, have been announced. These processors offer a scalable solution for Small-to-Medium Business, Mainstream, and Education (for both Windows and Chrome) markets. With up to four ‘Zen2’ cores and eight processing threads, with integrated RDNA® 2 graphics, and up to an efficient 15W TDP, these processors come equipped with proven technology to redefine the expectation of what an everyday laptop can do. Enhanced features, such as, smart power optimizations, are designed to deliver even longer battery life. In fact, we expect over 10 hours of battery life from everyday laptops that cost as little as $399, powered by the AMD ‘Mendocino’ processor.
So stay tuned for a lots of innovation coming over the horizon on AMD Ryzen™ processors, with over 200 platforms coming to market in 2022.
