Asus RX Dual 460 with power connector ?

I own a graphics card from Asus Rx Dual 460 O2G.
This card does not have a 6 pin power connector.

The variant of HIS has such a power connection. -> See photo

Does anyone know if I can solder the 6 pin connector to the Asus card ? Without destroying the graphics card or the mainboard ?

Reason for the question.
The graphics card doesn't work with my "old" MSI motherboard and my guess is that PCIe doesn't provide enough power to run the graphics card.

Thanks.

I've been using the MSI K9N Neo V2 (MS-7369).  BIOS Update: 3.0B27

That motherboard is DDR2 based and the maximum CPU is the Athlon 64 X2. Boards like that need the ATX12V which is a 4-pin power connector to handle the CPU primarily. Some of the power will be provided to the slots but most of that comes from the 2x12 connector.

To use a modern video card will require a better PSU than what you have generally but there is a benefit to the modern PSU, it can be used with a new motherboard/CPU/RAM when you upgrade
