R9 GPUs can support up to six displays. I think all of them can support four QHD monitors (at least with 30 Hz of refresh rate)

Thank you for the reply. Would an RX480 8GB support four 2560x1440p displays? I found a max digital resolution of 7680x5760, does this mean than the rx480 can run 3 qhd monitors or does the max digital resolution refer to something else?
I found the max digital resolution of an R9 290 and was 4096x2160 which is rather confusing.
Any clarification on the above would be really helpful.
Your info - it is max resolution for single port.
R9 290 has DP1.2=4096x2160 max
RX 480 has DP1.4=7680 × 4320max
You can buy four QHD monitors with DisplayPort 1.2 MST support and connect them using only two RX or R9 DP outputs
Or just use any available ports but two of them must be DP(native DP connection or Active DP converter).

A couple of last questions. Since both the RX and R9 support up to 6 monitors, does this mean that I can use for example, 3 MST hubs and connect to each hub 2 QHD monitors, for a total of 6 QHD monitors?
LAstly, these monitors will be used for productivity so fps is not an issue, however, if my assumption above is correct of being able to connect 6 QHD monitors, how do I calculate what fps should be expected? Is there a chart or a way to calculate fps based on the amount of monitors vs resolution?

1.You can use one MST hub per one DP output.As far as i know, there are no R9 290 cards with more than two DP outputs.
And i am not sure, that you can use all six WQHD monitors using 60Hz refresh rate. Honestly i am not sure, that non professional AMD GPUs can handle six WQHD monitors even at 30 Hz.
2.I don't know such calculators,but performance in six WQHD configuration must be at least two times less than for 4K resolution.
The RX480 8GB by Sapphire has 4 DP + 1 HDMI port.
I am trying to find more info on this, whether the RX480 can handle even at low fps i.e.24, 6 QHD monitors when connected via the MST Hub route.
Also, with the above mentioned GPU, I would imagine that its possible to connect each QHD monitor to each 1 DP port.
It would be great if anyone could confirm if this is the case.
I can see only 3DP+1HDMI or 2DP+2HDMI+1DVI variants of Sapphire RX 480 cards.
You can use 4 WQHD monitors with those cards without any hubs and adapters ,but two of them must use native DP connection.
For six WQHD monitors you must use two MST hubs (for both variants mentioned above) or 4 monitors with built in MST hub (for daisy chain connection)
3D performance in such configuration is almost unpredictable.
Of course, if 4DP model of RX exist - you can connect 4 monitors to all DP outputs.
