My screen goes black when I boot into windows after installing new video card drivers.

Question asked by swindle007 on Dec 22, 2015

Last week my wife bought me a GIGABYTE RADEON R9 380X for Christmas.  I uninstalled the drivers for my old video card, removed it, installed the new one and the latest crimson drivers.  When Windows 10 restarts the screen goes black and I can not do anything.  I can boot into safe mode and reinstall the drivers, but that doesn't seem to help.   I've even tried formatting and reinstalling Windows 10, but that didn't help, so I than reinstalled Windows 7 thinking it might be an issue with Windows 10.  However, as soon as I installed the newest drivers on the fresh copy of Windows 7, the screen goes black once the Windows logo appears.  So I RMA the video card and the replacement came in today.  I installed it and I'm still getting the black screen after installing the lastest drivers.  Can someone help me before I go insane!
