June marks the start of summer, a season perfect for PC gamers and builders alike. With vacation time and more free hours, it's the ideal time to upgrade your rig, explore new games, and join exciting online events (like our VLANs or AMAs!). Or, it could be a perfect time to relax and unwind with friends and family. Either way, summer is here…and it’s gonna be hot!
Since December 2023:
Thanks to you, Red Team, 2024 has been an incredible year. With your support and feedback, we’ve collaborated on numerous projects and events while making a few changes to our community platform.
Red Team Discord Server
Since its launch, the community has quadrupled in size! (You rock Red Team!). We’ve hosted great conversations, giveaways, and answered numerous questions. Last month, we added the #tech-help and #ai-talk channels to enhance your experience, especially the #ai-talk! In addition, we launched the #amd-gaming-news channel, where you can stay up to date on the latest AMD Gaming news. Last but not least, we hosted our first V-LAN in March, where we played a bunch of games and gave away some awesome prizes. This is just the beginning, so be sure to join our server if you haven’t already to see what we have in store for you!
Ask Me Anything (AMA)
Continuing the success of our previous AMAs in 2023, we hosted two more AMAs in April complete with giveaways. We started with our friends from Alienware to talk about their latest gaming monitor, the Alienware 27 360Hz QD-OLED, then welcomed our pal Ed Crisler from Sapphire to discuss their latest Sapphire Pulse Radeon GPUs and gaming. We have more in store this year, so don’t miss out! Our partners look forward to mingling with you!
Red Team Community Forum
We've introduced a new widget on the landing page that displays trending topics, facilitating quicker access to discussions. Additionally, we've implemented a sticky navigation bar to enhance forum navigation and to direct you to our revamped AMD Store and the AMD Fan Store, where you’ll discover a plethora of cool swag.
Furthermore, newcomers now have the option to select the board for initiating discussions during the registration process. Finally, after some adjustments, we've optimized our Spam and Flood Control Tool once again. Based on our findings, the number of “false” flags has decreased. (Thank you for your patience, everyone).
Contest and Sweepstakes
Everyone's Favorite! Thanks to our partners, we've kept the Red Team Monthly Sweepstakes running, ensuring that six lucky Red Team Members received GPUs, CPUs, Motherboards, and a few surprises - Red Team Dog Tags! Click here to see this year's winners. Plus, after reading your feedback, we changed the entry requirement for the sweepstakes! For the last two months, all you had to do was answer simple, yet important questions for us. We thank you for this!
June Red Team Monthly Sweep. Don’t forget to enter!
V-LANs
Another community favorite. These events are great, especially for meeting fellow Red Team members. We chat, we help each other with PC building tips, and we frag! We held the first party in March, where, for the first time, I lost a Chess match to @Doryan! We are now friends on Chess.com, playing daily matches, where he continues to beat me (LOL). We have two more V-LANs coming up this year, Red Team; in June (be sure to sign-up if you haven’t yet), and the last one in September.
Our Partners
We are grateful for their continued support. Alienware, ASUS, be quiet!, MSI, Patriot Memory and last but not least, Sapphire are amazing community supporters. As you may have noticed they provide the prizes for our Red Team Monthly Sweepstakes and particiapte in our AMAs on the Red Team Discord Server. Plus, they offer lots of insights and ideas periodically. Please join me in thanking our partners by clicking on the “Like” button or posting a comment.
AMD Volunteer Moderators
An invaluable part of our team is our volunteer moderators. They are savvy, committed, and resourceful. With their support, we were able to bring you the AMA sessions, battle spammers and phishers, post/move discussions and critical posts, contribute to our How-to articles, while moderating the Forum and Discord. As the latter continues to grow, I’m sure we’ll be bringing more volunteers to help us with our journey!
Looking ahead:
Red Team Monthly Sweepstakes
We will continue to run these for the rest of the year. Something tells me this Christmas is going to be special – trust me! Just stay tuned, enter them when you can, and please tell your friends!
V-LANs
Per your request, Red Team, we’re going to have them every quarter (March, June, September, and – maybe - December). They occur on a Saturday, are 7 hours long, and feature two raffles. (Remember, to earn one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes you must be a member of the Red Team Community and the Red Team Discord Server).
Red Team Watch Parties
We are thinking about introducing Watch Parties where we can chill together and watch TV shows, Twitch TV, YouTube, and even movies on Netflix or Amazon! And as always, we are more than happy to jump on our Discord server to play a game or two with you; just let us know.
Red Team Newsletter
We’ve introduced a richer, yet slimmer newsletter this year. Wally has revamped our Newsletter from the ground up, and something tells me it will be even better by the end of the summer. You can subscribe here.
Surveys and Polls
We conducted our first survey last month and are on track to conduct the second in a few months. On the other hand, we are planning to run fewer polls, which will be announced here in the forum but run on Discord. A special “Thank You” to those of you who took the time to respond to our questions – your feedback is priceless.
2024 Has Been Fun!
From chatting with you and hosting AMAs on Discord to playing games and giving away awesome prizes while helping each other with PC building tips, the Red Team continues to rock! Thank you for your commitment to AMD!
BUILD. PLAY. SHARE!
