What amd drivers do I need for my Ryzen processor?

So I have a 5800x with a B550m MSI Bazooka and I have a 1 TB SSD with Windows 11. I think these 3 things are the only ones that matter in this situation. I want to update my drivers to see if I have the latest drivers so I go to the AMD support and help for drivers and when I install StoreMI it says it isn't compatible because I don't have a HDD and SSD. Does this mean there is no way for me to update my processor's drivers without a HDD?

The only drivers for Processors are for APU processors that have Integrated Graphics on it. Otherwise your processor doesn't have any drivers to download or install except Ryzen Master and StoreMI apps.

Not familiar with StoreMI but it needs a minimum of 2 drives to work. So you need to add another HDD or SDD to your PC to be able to enable StoreMI.

Thank you for the help.

That is not quite correct elstac.
There are drivers for Ryzen processors.
Ryzen CPUs without a graphics unit are supplied via the chipset driver. You just have to choose the right chipset from the used board and the operating system.

@Francobér

CHIPSET packages doesn't provide AMD Processor drivers because there aren't any for Non-APU processors.

If you check the CHIPSET Drivers Installation XMP file it will show that there are none for processors. Only for the Motherboard itself.

If you check Device Manager under Processors you will see special drivers installed by Windows itself. Those drivers can't be downloaded, as far as I am aware of, from any source. They come native to the Windows version you have installed.

From MiniTools website about CPU Drivers:

Do You Need to Update CPU Drivers?

Yes, but the way to update CPU drivers is somehow different from the method of upgrading other devices like graphics cards.

In many cases, a CPU is integrated with a graphics card or GPU. Thus, when we say updating CPU drivers, it usually involves in graphics updates. For a CPU without its native GPU, it doesn’t exactly have its drivers. Software support for that kind of CPU is included its motherboard’s BIOS. Therefore, to upgrade the CPU driver, you need to upgrade your BIOS.

From DigitalTrends Tech site about Processor's driver:

Installing and updating your PC’s drivers is important. Graphics drivers, motherboard drivers, add-in-card drivers, but what about CPU drivers? Technically, CPUs do not require drivers, but there are some exceptions, and there are some situations where you may even want to update the drives that affect your CPU’s performance.

In general, no. CPUs don’t have drivers and don’t need them to run. Your system does need to install its chipset drivers — related to the motherboard — in order to integrate all the components together and use all of your system’s features. Some CPUs can have onboard graphics drivers associated with them, but the processor itself does not need drivers.

The proper control of the respective CPU is managed by means of the chipset driver, which also contains the power plan for the CPU, among other things. The chipset driver is not a pure CPU driver, but it optimizes and ensures the best performance and the interaction of the individual components in the ideal case.
Among other things, also the interaction of the integrated fTPM, which also led to problems under Windows last year and which currently also causes problems under Windows 11 again. For this reason, you should always make sure to install the latest chipset driver. Mostly you can find it at the respective board manufacturers who restructure the driver published by AMD and adapt it to the respective board. In most cases, however, you can always rely on the current driver from AMD, because this ensures proper operation in any case. For CPU's that use an integrated graphics unit, the chipset driver has been extended by the graphics driver. that is the difference. I have listed the individual component versions of a chipset driver here.

Hello, I have APU processors (Ryzen 5 3400g to be precise) and have Ryzen Master and AMD Graphics Drivers installed. But now I have Nvidia Graphics card installed on my pc with the driver too. Do I need to uninstall the AMD Ryzen Master and the AMD Graphics Drivers?
