Undervolting my 5900x

Hi,

I have a 5900x and heard that Asus (mobo) were supplying too much voltage to my CPU, so I decided the time was right to undervolt, especially with summer coming up. Unfortunately I can't get it any higher than 40.00/4ghz without a no-post. I have even tried it with the smallest offset you can apply, which was something like 0.00625. It is stable with 40.00/4ghz and a 0.0125 offset but I notice micro stutters in my games where there was none before.

Does anyone think I may have a faulty chip? Or can anyone provide any advice because I'm leaving a lot of performance on the table here.

Hi,
If you are on an all core OC, offset is not your best friend. For that find the best manual voltage and keep it that way.

About the ASUS overvolting thing.. its on AM5 Ryzen 7000, you don't have anything to worry about.

I would explore curve optimizer or forcing PBO go higher with undervolt offset.

I do have a video for undervolting but is more focused on Zen; Zen+ and Zen2 than Zen3, still valid though...

You can do Curve Optimizer and Offset undervolt at the same time.
