AMD AM4 Ryzen CPU with the box cooler. See the pictures.

Unscrew the cooler, backplate fall out.
Still locked like it was still screw.
Twist nothing
Pull a bit more... pictures

And the end results

Just making sure I'm not alone in this situation

Have you stressed tested the CPU during some good half an hour to make it easier to come out?

30min OCCT at 80C and the Wraith Prism came off easy.

No, just normal use and shut it down.

 

Never had thermal paste act like glue before.

If I knew I would have tried it

It's too late anyway as seen with the last pictures.

The stock heatsink comes preapplied with a thermal pad, its a lot more sticky than regular thermal paste...

Sorry for your CPU

With a blade and very gentle moves, they can return back to full glory. A bit difficult of course and you can break them for good if not carefull enough.

Issue is since it's been removed incorrectly... broken pins occurred... all power ones.

 

RMA has been issued and we'll see ...

Sticker is not the word... it's more a adhesive then thermal paste and about 3-4 times too much

to be honest, paste looks just fine to me.... But this is why pins are gone! I believe they are gone for good
