Ryzen 5 5600, no power on pc

i have Ryzen 5 2600X and  just get used Ryzen 5 5600 want change to it, but when i took off the Ryzen 5 2600x and put the Ryzen 5 5600 the pc wont start at all and there is no power, 

 

when i put back the R5 2600X the pc turn on normally, i don't know if shorted CPU cause that ?

 

System build: 

motherboard a320 m pro

ram 16gb

power supply cooler master 500W

gtx 1060 6gb vram

Most likely you have the wrong Motherboard BIOS version installed that doesn't support the new Ryzen 5 5600 processor.

 

According to MSI Support for your Motherboard its CPU LIST shows the following for the 5600 processor: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/A320M-A-PRO/support#cpu

If your motherboard's BIOS version is older than 7C51v16.ZIP you will need to update the BIOS version BEFORE you install the new processor again.

 

Otherwise your PC won't boot up with the new processor since the older BIOS version doesn't recognize it.

 

Also check to see if your current RAM you have installed is compatible with the new processor from the link I posted above.

thanks for reply, but already update the BIOS, and not just pc wont boot up the the problem is there is no power at all when i put the Ryzen 5 5600

First do you hear any BEEPS when you boot up with the 2600X processor? You should hear at least one BEEP at the beginning  when it is booting up.

 

If you don't hear any beeps than you need to add a PC SPEAKER, very cheap to buy, and install it to troubleshoot your PC.

 

From your manual on where to connect the PC SPEAKER on your motherboard:

But first before troubleshooting with BIOS remove all RAM and just install one RAM Stick in your motherboard and see if it boots up.

 

Listen to the BEEP Code sequence.

 

Also make sure you have the 4 pin CPU Motherboard plug connected to the Motherboard.

 

Now to let BIOS troubleshoot your PC starting problems.

 

1- After you install the new processor do a CLEAR CMOS so that BIOS will properly recognize your new processor.

 

2- Disconnect all hardware from your motherboard except your PSU, CPU, Windows Drive making sure your PC SPEAKER is connected and working. 

 

3- Power up and listen to the BEEP SEQUENCE as BIOS is checking your Processor. 

 

Note: According to your Motherboard Manual you have a AMI BIOS installed. Here are a couple of sites that explains the BEEP Codes for AMI BIOS:

9 short ROM checksum error The contents of the system BIOS ROM does not match the expected checksum value. The BIOS ROM is probably defective and should be replaced
10 short CMOS shutdown register read/write error The shutdown for the CMOS has failed
11 short Cache error The L2 cache is faulty
1 long, 2 short Failure in video system An error was encountered in the video BIOS ROM, or a horizontal retrace failure has been encountered
1 long, 3 short Memory test failure A fault has been detected in memory above 64KB
1 long, 8 short Display test failure The video adapter is either missing or defective
2 short POST Failure One of the hardware testa have failed
1 long POST has passed all tests

 

4- After powering up with the new processor and the BEEP Sequence indicates a RAM problem that means that your CPU passed the BIOS POST Test and didn't see any RAM installed.

 

5- Install one stick of RAM in the appropriate DIMM Slot (A2 generally) and see if the BEEP SEQUENCE now indicates a GPU problem. If it does that means that both the CPU and RAM passed the BIOS POST Test and didn't see any GPU installed.

 

6- Connect your GPU, Keyboard & Mouse, and Monitor to your GPU Card and boot up. Listen to the BEEP Code sequence again.

Check the bottom of the 5600 for any bent or missing pins, or any discoloration or other obvious visible damage to the CPU.
