As the title says, I bought the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D and I've been running into problems with my PC shutting down from (what I assume is) overheating issues with the cpu.

When playing Borderlands 3, my in-game temps hover around 72c-73c, which I consider normal based off my past cpu's. The problem is that when I transition levels, the temperature can spike really high while loading (85c-88c). After I've been playing for a while and my room is more toasty, the temperature spikes so high that it causes my PC to shut down. Highest temp I seen was 91.5c before the PC shut off.

Basically what I'm wanting to know is, is there a setting in the BIOS to either disable or (preferably) delay the shut off process by 2-3 seconds? I get that the cpu shuts itself off to prevent damage, but I suspect that's under circumstances where the temperature is a STEADY 95c-100c rather than just quick spikes for a microsecond.

Are these updates available via firmware on my motherboard's website, or is there a different way I should update?

I recently switched back to my Noctua NH-D15 cooler, and I upped my fan speeds. I am reading temps around 60-65c while playing games for hours on end, but the temp still spiked to 90c while loading at one point. Haven't experienced anymore shutdowns, but I'm worried that it will cross that threshold for no reason and shut down every time I load. I'm going to check to see if the mobo has some auto-overclock feature I can disable.
