My mother keeps insisting that I can diagnose for hardware errors using some kind of device or tools.
It's my first time putting together a PC and from the looks of it, it's hopeless.
She and I keep arguing this pointless argument that maybe the motherboard can be diagnosed using a voltmetre or some stupid **bleep** like that. I know the motherboard is past its lifetime due to my f*ckups but she still insists that it's fine.
What do I do?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Just buy the parts new.
I know it's a big gamble, but there's really little of what I can do.
And I do have the money to do so, so...
It can possibly be done if person doing it has the right skills and tools, but I doubt you have the tools and they easily cost more than a new motherboard, or a few... And no, I don't have such skills either.
How about telling what the problem is in detail. Maybe it doesn't require repairing anything, as most often it doesn't.
It's an ASUS motherboard.
First and foremost, when I try to turn it on, it doesn't boot to POST.
Secondly, it doesn't even display warning LEDs, or "QLEDs," to tell of an error.
Just answer this question: Do most motherboards turn on without a CPU?
EDIT: Just a wild idea.
Check for system files corruption...and repair.
Open a command prompt as Administrator.... type (or copy/paste) sfc /scannow.
I can't... it doesn't even start up!
Have you tried starting in Safe Mode?
Never mind... close this thread.

EXPLANATION: I'm just being an idiot.
No matter...we are all idiots until proven otherwise
What was the final solution? Don't be embarrassed there are probably thousands who have this question/issue.
Just buy the parts new.
I know it's a big gamble, but there's really little of what I can do.
And I do have the money to do so, so...
And... I did learn from my mistakes right, and they are:
