The 7900X is a 170W TDP processor, as @misterj states, the AMD General Specifications list "Liquid cooler recommended for optimal performance".

If you do not want to use liquid cooling or an AIO cooler, then a large dual tower air cooler with 6 or 7 heatpipes and dual 120mm or 140mm fan would be best. Check reviews on Thermalright, Noctua and DeepCool.

In short, no.

The Arctic Freezer 7 X CO is a 100mm cooler with only 2 heatpipes. It is woefully inadequate to cool a Ryzen 9 7900X processor.

nwenar, AMD recommends "Liquid cooler recommended for optimal performance". Enjoy, John.

Consider the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE or the Thermalright Frost Spirit.

Here you can see them tested on a 7700x and 7950x compared to Noctua and DeepCool as @FunkZ mentioned: https://youtu.be/cgkggcBBW8Q?si=_tO_oMJQvVXNhQZ0&t=613

I'm running the Phantom Spirit on my 12600k and can recommend it.
