Amd Ryzen 5500GT is genuine or not.

Hi I am Rupesh from India and I want to buy a new pc and so I have selected Amd Ryzen 5500GT processor according to my needs but someone said that 5500GT is fake.

I searched processors from amd and found entries ending with G,H,U etc., but found only one entry ending with GT ie., 5500GT.

There's no other processor ending with GT and so may I know what's the meaning of GT in 5500GT and what is the difference between 5500G and 5500GT.

Someone even said that it's not manufactured by AMD.

So can I trust and buy 5500GT.

Another small question which is not related to the current subject is I have selected b450 motherboard instead of b550 motherboard due to some reasons.

Can I use gigabyte b450 mk revision 2 motherboard with 5500GT processor.

Kindly try to clarify my doubts.

Regards,

Rupesh.

Here's the AMD specifications for the 5500GT

https://www.amd.com/en/products/apu/amd-ryzen-5-5500gt

There is no 5500G - the 5500GT is similar to the 5600G but is clocked slightly lower.

Here you can compare the entire 5000 series processor specifications

The Gigabyte B450M K r2 supports the 5500GT since BIOS release FA.

5500GT is an odd processor not really meant for retail markets kind of like ryzen pro 4xxx G series which was sold only as "OEM" by primeabgb 1-2 years back.

I want to buy 5500GT because I like the specification of it and it is best suitable for my current needs

Peace of mind means can I use the system which has 5500GT atleast for seven to eight years without any problem if I use it carefully.

The 5500GT is not OEM, it is a box retail processor with cooler included.

The "odd" thing about this processor, which was announced in January 2024, is the addition of the "T" to the name. It likely means "Turbo" as the 5500GT and 5600GT have 200MHz higher boost clock than their G counterparts. The GT processors also have a lower launch price than the previous G chips, so you save some money as well as get slightly better performance.

If your needs include a very cheap processor with integrated graphics for the outdated AM4 platform, then yes, the 5500GT meets those requirements.

Someone in other forums suggested as follows

5500GT is an odd processor not really meant for retail markets kind of like ryzen pro 4xxx G series which was sold only as "OEM" by primeabgb 1-2 years back.

I want to buy 5500GT because I like the specification of it and it is best suitable for my current needs but I am hearing from other people as ”It is an odd processor etc.,.".

So can I buy this particular 5500GT with peace of mind.

Peace of mind means can I use the system which has 5500GT atleast for seven to eight years without any problem if I use it carefully.

I believe what you say is true because you are from AMD community but other people are from outside.

Kindly clarify my doubt.

Regards,

Rupesh.
