Abnormal GPU temperature reported by 5850u

I'd just bought a Thinkpad P14s.

It comes with a AMD 5850u.

Everything works fine except the temperature reported for the GPU was unreasonable!

I'd updated the Radeon software, the peak temperature was not being shown.

However, HWiNFO was still showing 429,447 degree Celsius!

Was this only a software issue? Or am I getting a CPU with faulty sensor?

Thanks.

Use a different Monitoring program to see if you get the same or similar results.

Doesn't your laptop have its own program to monitor temperatures to your APU?

I used the the software with the name "Radeon Software" that came with my Thinkpad to monitor the temperature.

I had then installed HWiNFO to check this also.

I have another desktop with 4650G, not problem with the GPU temperature at all.

Download OCCT Diagnostic (free) and see under "Monitor" you have the same temperatures.

OCCT is a Stress testing program but uses HWMonitor, I believe, to get data like Temperatures etc.

If it does then it could be your Motherboard misreading the CPU Thermal sensor or the CPU Thermal sensor is defective.

Also try using CPU-Z and see if it shows similar temps or OpenHWMonitor all free monitoring programs.

Confirmed by technician from Lenovo that it is a hardware issue. Thanks.
