5950x temperature

I've installed a 5950x on a Dark Hero VIII board, along with a 4090. Stock settings.

I have a Deepcool push/pull front mounted AIO. 1 external exhaust fan. 2 top exhaust fans.

Windows 11 Pro.

CPU will sit at 50c in BIOS. Low 30's with nothing running in Windows.

Trying to just install a steam game I'm getting the attached stats:

Running a game, let's say Fortnite on full settings it hovers between 65-75c, sometimes a spike up to 90c.

Seems like it's running hot.

I've got MX-6 paste coming tomorrow I'm going to try. Currently using the stock paste that was on the AIO.

Thoughts?

Hi, does the deepcool have a 240,280 or 360 rad?

If its 240, then my humble opinion is: its not enough for a 5950X

Do you have PBO enabled? Judging for that board, you have.

RoG has lots of PBO settings and the more agressive ones do push the CPU a lot. Try dialing it back a bit.

Good luck

I did try turning off Core Performance Boost, that made things significantly better, however as you know it also removed the ability for it to boost at all, so maxed at 3.4ghz. I'd rather not turn it off but CPB is pretty erratic.

The deepcool is a 360.

PBO is off.

Mine is the same on a MSI 360 AIO, tried two now.... I have built other systems with the coolermaster 360 AIOs and seen temps as low at 24°C on idle and 50°C under load... So I'm looking to get one of those I think.
