why is my 2600 only showing 1 core 2 treads in cinebench, and 2 processors in msconfig? i thought it was suppose to read 6 core 12 threads?
white_cffc, with no information, it is impossible to even guess, but here is a wild guess. Is you Windows a fresh install or a clone/copy from another system? Please post your system specifications for all HW, SW and UEFI.
To be honest I don't know what Hw Sw are I see references to uefi in the
bios but not sure what info you are asking for. I'm new to building
computers.
Back story is I changed my processor from a pentium to and 2600 and changed
the motherboard obviously. Everything works but I'm seeing no difference in
performance. Any help is appreciated
white_cffc, did you do a fresh install of your OS or use the copy that was left from before? Make sure your OS is a fresh install.
Here is what the Guidelines say about describing you system:
Hardware: [Describe the make and model of your: Graphics Card, CPU, Motherboard, RAM, PSU, Display(s), etc.]
Software: [Describe version or release date of your: Operating System, Game/Application, Drivers, etc.]
If you did not do a fresh install, then you are very lucky to even have a running system coming from an Intel to an AMD. It is not surprising at all that it performs really badly. Perhaps you have a friend who can help you create a USB stick with the OS files and install it on your system. Thanks and enjoy, John.
Yea i didn't do anything with the os. I will do a fresh install. Thanks
Thanks, white_cffc. That will probably cure your ills. Enjoy, John.
