So, I bought a 2600X Ryzen 5 processor a few months back and it appears to have 12 cores built into it, at least, I believe it does considering that my task manager CPU diagram shows 12 boxes.

Does that have something to do with the ML engine for optimization?

Otherwise if I do have a Ryzen 5 with 12 cores shouldn't it be a Ryzen 7 Processor?

Not sure what's going on...

It states 6 cores and 12 logical processors, SMT (HyperThreading) adds the additional 6.

Alright, thank you for that, I couldn't figure it out. although i'm not sure how hyperthreading exactly works I will probably keep it enabled as my workloads do benefit from it.
