upgrade
I am looking to upgrade my computer in the near future and I want to know if I can keep my motherboard and upgrade to an AMD Ryzen™ 5 4600GE or if I have to change it.
I have a b450m pro m2 max

Looks like you should be good with your current motherboard,
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B450M-PRO-M2-MAX#support-cpu
Copied from above page
RYZEN 5 | Renoir | 100-000000150 | 4600GE | 100 | 3.3GHz | 3MB | 8MB | N/A | 35 | AMDRadeonGraphics 1900MHz | 7B84vAC.zip |
May need a BIOS update before swapping it out..

Also you will need to see if your current RAM Memory is compatible with the new processor by looking at the Motherboard's QVL list for RAM Memory for the Renoir processor.
