Upgrade CPU and Video for Flight Simulator

Hello everyone,  old guy here needs some help in upgrading to new system that can easily run Microsoft 2020 flight simulator or X-Plane.

Currently have AMD FX 9590 and Nvidia GeForce Rtx 3060TI.

Your suggestions are much appreciated.   Budget (cost is an issue) but want a smooth running simulation.

Thanks much

Microsoft FS is known to be CPU intensive, particularly for distance and detail. What resolution do you want to play at? If you run 1080p or 1440p you can get away with reusing your 3060Ti. If you want 4K or max graphics upgrade to something like a 4070 Super or 7900 GRE.

Because you state cost is an issue, and AM4 parts are still readily available, (and cheap) you may want to consider something like a 5700X3D, B550 board and 2x16GB DDR4-3600. Or go AM5 and get a 7800X3D, B650 board and 2x16GB DDR5-6000.

Ryzen R7 5700X | B550 Gaming X | 2x16GB G.Skill 3600 | Radeon RX 7900XT
Ryzen R7 5700G | B550 Gaming X | 2x8GB G.Skill 4000 | Radeon Vega 8 IGP
Ryzen R5 5600 | B550 Gaming Edge | 4x8GB G.Skill 3600 | Radeon RX 6800XT
