I am currently using a Dell with a Threadripper Pro 5955WX processor and the computer has four sticks of memory in it. While running Civil 3d 2024 the program runs slow on some of my advanced models and also crashes. Would there be any difference in performance or stability using eight sticks of memory, utilizing the full 8 channels opposed to just using 4 sticks of memory?
gosbee30, I think not. I assume your memory is a four channel kit on the MB QVL list? I strongly suggest you talk to Dell support. I ran my 3970X on three channels due to a defective board. Enjoy, John.
