Just wanted to share my experience with AMDs RMA process.
I was able to get a RX 6900XT from the AMD online store - it was mid June 2021.
It was running fine but had horrible coil whining - but nonetheless it was running like it should.
Now after nearly 2 years, just shortly before the warranty expired, I had some strange artifacts on my 2nd monitor. Testes everything but nothing solved the issue. So, contacted AMD and wrote with a service person back and forth. No complications at all. I’ve run mostly all test they asked for and gave feedback. But since nothing helped, I had to ship my GPU to their warehouse.
To my surprise - their stock on 6900XTs is running low to which I was asked if a upgrade for the 7900XT is fine. I mean, absolutely! Who wouldn’t take an upgrade?!
So here I am, a happy customer with a really smooth RMA experience and a brand new RX 7900XT. (:
