Ryzen 9 7900x iGPU supports 4k@120Hz ???

Hi there,

does anybody know if the 7900x iGPU support 4k@120Hz ?

Some mainboard specs show support for DP/HDMI support at even >120Hz but with note "depends on integrated gpu"....

I can't find anything on the CPU spec page

Thanks for your help!!!!

Found this tech site that shows the specs for that IGPU Radeon Graphics. Note this article I believe was BEFORE the processor was released to the public. But can give you a general idea of Integrated RDNA2 Graphics Specs: https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-confirms-ryzen-7000-integrated-rdna2-graphics-features

The built-in RDNA2 GPU has powerful video encoding and decoding capability for the most popular codecs. It supports decoding and encoding for H.264 and H.265, but also decode for AV1, which is a new standard gaining popularity thanks to Intel Arc and NVIDIA RTX 40 series. AMD RDNA2 graphics already support AV1 decoding on Ryzen 6000 mobile CPU series as well as on Radeon RX 6000 GPUs.

The GPU supports HDMI 2.1, and DisplayPort 2.0 and Type-C DP mode. It is worth noting that even NVIDIA RTX 40 series do not support DP 2.0 standard, so NVIDIA, better take a note. This standard will be available with Intel ARC GPUs, though.

Here is a YouTube video of the RDNA2 IGPU Graphics review if interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKg7KnMYH-E

Thanks for that response but I have already seen this presentation...

And I was wondering whats the benefit of upgrading to DP 2.0 and HDMI 2.1 while limiting to 4K60 ?!
I don't get it...

In my opinion, more powerful APU processor with the latest AMD IGPU Graphics. But if you want higher Frequencies for a 4K Monitor then purchase a separate GPU card that can give you those specs that you want.

IGPU aren't as powerful as moderate to high end GPU cards.

You might get 2K@120Hz though.

Plus DP 2.0 and HDMI 2.1 has a higher bandwidth and more features than the previous versions of DP and HDMI which your APU IGPU can take advantage of.
