Hello. Newcomer here, but I have been building computers since the early 90's. I bought a Ryzen 9 3900X and was planning a routine desktop upgrade. I have three ASUS x570 motherboards, Tuf gaming x570 series with and without WiFi and an ASUS ROG Strix x570-F gaming (all with the latest BIOS). I have DDR4 memory from Crucial and from Corsair. I have 3 Geforce video cards. A 3070 TI, a 2070 super and a GTX 1050 TI. I use Crucial 1TB SSDs and/or Crucial NVMe 2TB SSD. I have several power supplies: 750, 1000, and 1050 watts. A silly hobbiest I am.
The problem was...I tried the Ryzen 9 3900X in each of the motherboards with the Wraith cooler or an aftermarket cooler. With EVERY combination of hardware the computer halted with the stop code VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR. I installed windows 10 home and windows 10 Pro, (I even tried windows 8 pro) on the SSD and the NVMe SSD. This trial and error took a long time (I'm retired). The only constant besides the recurrent stop code was the Ryzen 9 3900X
I tried solutions for the stop code found on the internet but sometimes the computer would crash as soon as I entered my PIN.
So, the Ryzen is in a box! I got a Ryzen 7 and built the computer around it and It worked first time. I have another desktop with the Ryzen 9 3900X that has been working well for at least a year.
Long story. Is there an update to the processor that can make it normal? What shall I do? Thank for reading this
