Ryzen 7 3700X RAM Question

I'm planning a computer rebuild soon and was wondering if the Ryzen 7 3700X is capable of utilizing RAM above 3200MHz. I was considering getting a 3600MHz kit but wasn't sure if it would achieve that speed with this CPU.

Just about all of the latest Motherboards supports overclocking RAM to their native speeds instead of their SPD speeds.

I have a Asus Motherboard with a 3700X processor with G-Skill RAM whose native speed is 3600Mhz but it SPD speed is less than 3000Mhz.

So in BIOS I needed to overclock the RAM to its native speed of 3600Mhz. Haven't had any issues, in fact the majority of Users ends up overclocking their RAM to reach the RAM native speed rather than have BIOS run the RAM at its SPD speed.

But you need to check your Motherboard's QVL List for your Matisse or 3000 series processor to find which 3600Mhz RAM is compatible with your processor and motherboard.

Also the Motherboard's Specs under Memory will show you up to which Overclocking speeds the Motherboard supports.

spookypuppy, AMD says here:"System Memory Specification Up to 3200MHz", but you are welcome to try. You should also consult your MB vendor. Enjoy, John.
