I've overclocked my Ryzen 5600X processor from its base frequency of 3.7 GHz to 4.2 GHz. Now, I want to reset it back to its factory settings, but it's not working. I've tried resetting both Ryzen Master and the BIOS, but the frequency is still stuck at 4.2 MHz with a fixed voltage of 1.1V. I want to return to the automatic voltage and factory settings. I used Ryzen Master to set the 4.2 MHz overclock, but now Ryzen Master isn't working, and even resetting the BIOS isn't fixing it. Can you please help me? PLEASE LOOK AT MY PHOTOS."

In the Basic view (first screen) click Reset lower right corner and Apply.

This should set everything to Default.

Charybdis, post all your parts. Uninstall all utilities the MB vendor or you installed and do a Clear CMOS. In one screenshot you are in Creator Mode and in one Game Mode. Click Home and see if that fixes it.  John.

John, I uninstalled the program called ryzen master with a program called BCUninstaller. I will clear CMOS in the evening and let you know. Thank you for your attention.

 Charybdis, I know nothing about BCUninstaller and you should not need it to uninstall RM. AMD has a utility to do any necessary cleanup. I was mainly talking about MB vendor installed applications that claim to improve performance. These embed into your startup apps and will not go away unless uninstalled. Install RM from here. Post screenshots of RM Advanced View and Basic View. Still need to see all your parts. John.

Charybdis, this is the solution? Install a bunch of junk and hope for the best. Your system is not running at 4200MHz, that is the maximum. I recommend that none of these utilities be installed on any user's system except for Ryzen Master. John.

Charybdis, still like what? Please explain. It is not stuck at 4200MHz. Post a screenshot of RM running Cinebench R24 multicore. Let's see what it shows. How fast do you expect it to be? John.

EDIT: You have exposed an unfixed bug of RM:

Open a bug report against RM by clicking the Bug icon in the upper right corner of RM. Part of RM thinks it is in Manual mode and the other in Default. It has been reported before but report it again. Attach your RM screenshot.

I think what OP is referring to is the max reported is only 4200, not 4600 as it should be.

John, I leave a screenshot of my RM while playing CS2. When I reset the RM, as you can see in the screenshot, it becomes "4650 Mhz". I am experiencing a drop in fps. I think I can relay my problem, instead of the CPU taking more power and increasing the MHz?

goodplay you are right the voltage is free and Mhz should be 4600. When I reset the RM I come to these values ​​but the processor still does not exceed 4200MHz and when I turn on the computer again 4200 MHz and 1.1 fixed voltage is seen.

I updated the bios on my computer and overclocked it. I wanted the processor to run at 4.2 MHz and approved it via the bios and allowed the computer to boot. The processor performance decreased, I started experiencing FPS drops and decided to reset it to factory settings. Curve Optimizer is for voltage adjustment, it has nothing to do with overclocking.

Based on your ask to return to default settings what I recommend is uninstall Ryzen Master then reboot, check Adrenalin to ensure that no CPU overclock settings remain, then reboot again and go into BIOS and Load Optimized Defaults.

I removed RM, restarted the computer, reset the BIOS and CMOS. I set the Bios to default. The processor was reset to factory settings of 3.7, but when the computer is turned on, it is again showing as 1.1 V and 4.2 MHz.

Overclock settings are stored in one of two places, either they are in the BIOS or they are saved in Ryzen Master.

If you remove RM and clear BIOS there is no more overclock. You don't have to reinstall RM to verify, use CPU-Z or similar to verify.

Charybdis, I have no idea what this is all about. The last time I saw your reply, and did not understand it either, I was completely baffled. I thought you were going to RMA your processor. Have you done so? Have you asked for an RMA? What is the status? Did you open a Bug report on Ryzen Master? What is AMD's response. I do hope you realize that AMD employees seldom read these threads. If you want to communicate with AMD do it here. Why are you overclocking your processor when we have not even figured out why there is a bug in RM and the maximum clock seems to be stuck at 4200 MHz. You are only confusing the issue. John.

I opened a bug report in RM today. No response yet. This is the first time I see such confusion. I understand you John, you helped a lot. Thanks for that. You asked for Cinebench r24 and you can find it above. I left the address of this page in the bug report. I guess I won't be able to solve this problem here.

Charybdis, I have no way to prove it but I strongly suspect that you are running some 'free' utility that is supposed to improve your performance. AMD does not control the variables that control their processor. Even if they hide them, the 'free' app writers find them and tweak them. The only way to prevent this is to NEVER install them, EVER. They will muck up your processor and since we do not understand what was done we do not know how to undo it. My only suggestion is a fresh install of Windows DLed from Microsoft on a freshly formatted GPT drive. Good luck. John.

@misterj & @FunkZ you should know this. I discovered something new. I removed RM and reset bios. I didn't change the bios settings and turned on the computer and the processor was fine. Then I changed the bios settings and it went back to its old broken state. Do you know why? Here are my BIOS settings, if there is something wrong you should fix it.

So what you are saying, Charybdis is stay out of BIOS and all is well. John.

As soon as you change PBO from the default Auto to anything else such as Advanced or any other setting you are potentially overclocking your processor. You're affecting the default voltage curve or power limits or similar.

John, we did it. I solved the problem, see the CINEBENCH test below. After all the settings and hundreds of trials, only the ez mode power setting for BIOS is "Asus Optimal" wrong. I reset the BIOS and made the above settings, only when Asus Optimal is active, the processor is fixed at 4.2 GHz and 1.1 V. I will leave it as "NORMAL" now.
