Ryzen 5 5600x on MSI X470 GAMING PRO

I'm having issues with booting after installing a new 5600x on my MSI X470 GAMING PRO.

To be more precise, I get no video output (I've tried waiting up to 10 minutes with no result).

System works fine after putting back my ryzen7 2700x.

BIOS has been updated to it's latest version, which should allow 5k series to run.

Version
7B79v1l1(Beta version)  Updated AMD AGESA ComboAm4v2PI 1.1.0.0 Patch D

Release Date
2020-12-22

Any idea of what could be causing such a problem? I've not been able to find any information regarding possible incompatibility issues between the two.

Not sure why you are deciding the new bios has support for this chip? Nothing on the cpu support list claims compatibility yet. Nothing on the bios notes claims compatibility. When they offered Zen 2 support they clearly said so in both places.

I would ask MSI support to be sure. Likely support will come soon or maybe the beta supports it and you have another issue. Ask MSI...

Good Luck!

Did you get any answer from MSI? Sitting in the same boat.. can't boot my PC. They should have released the drivers already. The CPU has been out a few months already..
