Ryzen 5 3600 Core Clock

Hi there, so my core clock on my ryzen processor has changed, not by much but its bothering me. Usually it runs at 4200mhz pretty much all the time but now when using HW info, I am only getting 4171mhz which makes me sound petting since its only 29mhz difference but in games its gone as low as 4100mhz for no apparent reason. Anybody know why?

Are the speeds you're watching peak or average?

These Ryzen CPU's constantly change their frequency and voltage (1000x a second!) to maximize performance up to their thermal or power limits.  But different workloads affect the CPU thermals and power draws differently, so unless you are seeing the speed differences by testing with the exact same constant load in the exact same conditions (even room temperature matters!), don't worry about it.

Um I'm watching the average speed of the core clock, but ok thanks for your help. I assume that the small dip of 100mhz probably doesn't effect performance that much anyway right?

disable spread spectrum stuff... can get higher clock

Nah, it won't be noticeable unless you're staring at benchmark numbers.
